Innovative displays – new applications

Scalable Display Technologies, Inc. (SDT) was founded to commercialize technology developed and patented by MIT. Our EasyBlend™ software solution relies on camera-generated feedback for automatic calibration and edge blending the outputs of multiple projectors, eliminating the need for painstaking and time-consuming mechanical pointing and tedious adjustment of projectors. The result is brilliant high-intensity, high-resolution images from digital projectors at very reasonable costs. 

This purely digital approach creates multiprojector displays that cannot be engineered by conventional means, either mechanically or optically. The technique offers significant advantages in single projector applications as well.

The SDT solution lowers the cost of generating and calibrating high quality images and offers innovative and unique technical opportunities to a broad range of commercial and consumer projection markets.

A packaged version of our automatic EasyBlend software is SDT’s Multi-Projector System that programs as many as four projectors with a single computer. Displays requiring more than four projectors can be easily created by linking multiple computers that are seamlessly controlled and synchronized by the EasyBlend software. The result is a truly scalable display system.
