Scalable Display Technologies announces version 8.0 of its multi-projector calibration software suite — introducing Westar Warper 4K support, a new collimated display alignment panel, NVIDIA GPU improvements, algorithmic enhancements for complex blend shapes, and new calibration camera compatibility across ScalableDesktop, Scalable Panel Assembly, and Scalable Display Manager.
Scalable Display Technologies announces version 8.0 of its multi-projector calibration software, introducing new integrations, hardware support, and features across the full product suite. The update is available for ScalableDesktop, Scalable Panel Assembly, and Scalable Display Manager.
Westar Warper 4K Version 8.0 adds support for the Westar Warper 4K — a new 4K warping box supporting up to five DisplayPort UHD channels. The Westar Warper 4K extends Scalable's hardware compatibility for high-resolution display environments where GPU-based warping is not the preferred architecture.
Collimated Display Alignment Panel A dedicated alignment panel for collimated display systems is a significant addition in 8.0. The collimation update includes new features designed to simplify perspective correction through the mirror, with smoother interpolation across the screen. Collimated displays — widely used in high-fidelity flight and military simulators — require precise perspective correction that standard flat-screen calibration cannot provide; this panel addresses that requirement directly.
NVIDIA-Specific Upgrades Version 8.0 includes targeted improvements for NVIDIA GPU configurations, improving stability and performance in multi-GPU setups commonly used in simulation and large-scale ProAV installations.
Algorithmic Improvements Improvements to blend shape algorithms in 8.0 address complex screen geometries, delivering more accurate and visually consistent results on non-standard display configurations.
New Calibration Camera Support Additional calibration camera types are now supported, expanding the range of hardware integrators can use in the field without requiring specific camera models.
"Our latest update is a combination of the most highly requested features," said James Pietsch, Director of Global Accounts for Scalable Display Technologies. "We value the feedback that our customers have provided us with. We work hard to ensure their feedback is considered in every new software release. We are excited to unveil new features, such as Westar Warper 4K and a number of UX improvements, to streamline installation and integration."
Version 8.0 was showcased at InfoComm 2021 in Orlando, Florida, October 27–29, 2021. Full details on the release are available in the coverage links below.
